Earlier this year the Morris County Economic Development Corporation released the 2019 Morris County Talent Supply Report. The report is the first step in the creation of a Comprehensive Workforce Plan designed to retain and create growth to support businesses in Morris County.
Published in March 2019, the report was a collaborative project jointly issued by the Morris County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) and the Morris-Sussex-Warren Workforce Development Board to identify employer industry sectors, county workforce demographics, employment trends and occupational trends found presently in Morris County and identify the projected growth of these trends into 2026.
The report summarized a series of current sector data which included the identification of sectors with the greatest number of combined employees, payroll data, establishments, largest industry occupational groups and sectors with the greatest projected employment increases. The report uses this data along with contributed information from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the County College of Morris, and the Morris County Vocational School District, to demonstrate the importance of having top employment talent to retain a healthy economy in Morris County.
The Workforce Development Board, an independent agency responsible for planning, policy guidance and oversight of the workforce development system in the three counties, and the MCEDC plan to continue to collaborate and work with educational institutions and business leaders in their mission to develop a Comprehensive Workforce Plan that will ensure the Morris County workforce is prepared to meet employer needs.
