This week is National Small Business Week and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is highlighting key tax topics to support small business entrepreneurs to be as successful as possible. These include:
May 5: The focus is on helping small businesses have best practices especially during a startup. This includes correctly classifying a business, obtaining an employer identification number, keeping good records, etc.
May 6: Tips for tax professionals for small businesses including continuing education, TaxPro account and a weekly e-newsletter will be shared..
May 7: Technology is the spotlight with information on digital tools for business tax accounts and secure IRS messaging.
May 8: Vigilance against business scams include the “2025 Dirty Dozen scam list”, EIN protection and other important protective practices are featured.
There also will be a webinar at 2:00 PM (EST) with a variety of topics including how to use IRS tools, how the SBA helps small businesses, resources available for small business owners and much more.
May 9: Highlighted is the protection of financial and tax records in times of disasters.
