Morris County Chamber of Commerce Members share visions for 2020 at the 99th Annual Meeting Luncheon

On Friday, January 24th, members of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) gathered with community leaders and guests from across the county to take part in the 99th Annual MCCC Meeting Luncheon. The event was held at the Hanover Marriott in Whippany, New Jersey and had over 500 guests in attendance.

The event included the presentation of the 2019 William Huber Award to longtime Randolph resident Raymond Nisivoccia of Nisivoccia LLP and speeches from many keynote speakers including the NJ Regional President of PNC Bank, Linda Bowen, Atlantic Health System representative, Trish O’Keefe, MCCC Chamber Executive Director, Meghan Hunscher and Morris County Freeholder Director, Deborah Smith.

During her speech, Freeholder Smith discussed the Morris County Board of Freeholders’ plan to introduce a budget in the near future that will strive to prevent tax increases to existing taxpayers in 2020. Freeholder Smith also noted in her speech the growth Morris County had seen since previous years, adding that the county is currently home to 800 company headquarters, more than 28,000 businesses, employs 390,000 people and has a gross regional product of $60 billion.

Morris County has continued to develop into a magnet for high paying jobs in professional, scientific and life science professions and currently has the second-lowest unemployment rate in the county.
