On Tuesday, August 3, 2021, Intel announced a broad expansion of its AI for Workforce Program to 18 educational institutions across 11 U.S. states. Among the schools participating in the program is the County College of Morris located in Randolph and the Morris County Vocational School District in Denville, N.J. The expansion of the program is designed to further educate the next generation of burgeoning professionals in the fields of technology, healthcare, automation, and aerospace.
The AI for Workforce Program offers courses on data collection, computer vision, AI model training, coding, the societal impacts, the ethics of AI technology, and more. The program consists of five educational modules that focus on awareness, foundation, experience, capstone, and practical training. Upon completion of the program, students will receive a certificate or an associate degree in artificial intelligence. Since the program’s launch, more than 80 community college professors have received professional development from Intel and have been certified as Intel AI trainers.
The Intel program’s partnership with CCM and MCVSD will provide access and opportunities to a broad group of students and will create opportunities for underrepresented and under-served communities by offering the technological skills needed for the growing job market.
